Internal Medicine  We offer a complete array of diagnostic procedures to help determine the cause of your horses illness. Dr. Weldon is a board certified specialist which brings unique insights to even the most difficult diagnostic challenges. Many of the cases can be worked up on your farm since we provide mobile diagnostic equipment including Ultrasonography/Echocardiography, ECG, Endoscopy and Radiology. We can work with you to resolve difficult Respiratory , GI and Neurologic problems such as Allergies, chronic colic, ulcers and EPM.

Pre-purchase examinations  We can provide an in depth examination of  any horse you are considering purchasing. This will provide you with important information about the horses health and alert you of any potential problems that could show up later. This can be as simple as a straight-up exam including Ophthalmic, Neurologic and Lameness exam, or a  thorough interrogation that involves radiographs, endoscopy, and blood work.. This will provide you with the valuable information you will want to have as you make this important decision.

Lameness exams  Dr Weldon and Dr. Nancarrow  bring over 25 years of experience with the Equine athlete  to your lameness problem. Having worked with performance horses at all levels in Ocala Florida, Australia and North Florida. This gives us a critical eye for subtle lameness issues and allows us employ advanced diagnostic tests to help get you back in the saddle.

 Equine Advanced Dentistry - We offer the most advanced equipment in  equine dentistry  available . Many horses have dental problems that go unnoticed because it is difficult to adequately examine the mouth without proper sedation and equipment. We can thoroughly examine all dental structures and repair many irregularities that we find at the same time. We utilize the latest technology available in motorized equipment so the experience no longer needs to be rough and traumatic for your horse.

Surgery  Standing surgery of the horse is performed for biopsy, laceration repair and many other procedures. We also offer on site cryosurgery for the removal of many forms of skin lesions.

Wellness exams  Included routine and annual vaccinations for Encephalitis, Tetanus, Rabies, West Nile Virus, Strangles, Influenza and Rhinopneumonitis. Coggins testing for EIA and health exams and paperwork for Interstate and International traveling. Biochemical testing for organ disease as well as nutritional counseling.

Specialized Procedures

Ultrasonography  An advanced technology using sound wave to evaluate soft tissues such as tendons and ligaments, joint structures, reproductive organs and cutaneous masses It is painless and provides a non-invasive way to image deep tissue injuries.

Radiography  Uses x-rays to visualize bone and joints for abnormalities including arthritic changes and fractures. We can radiography most aspects of your horse on the farm utilizing portable X-ray equipment.

Endoscopy  This technology uses a  thin fiber optic cable that allows us to directly visualize internal structures such as  the airway of the horse, including the larynx, sinus passages, guttural pouches and upper esophagus. This is a very useful tool for diagnosing upper airway disease , laryngeal paralysis and esophageal disease.
