Gina Zambrano DVM CVA
Veterinarian - Equine Accupuncturist
Dr. Gina Zambrano grew up in Rhode Island and was involved in 4-H and FFA through her middle school and high school years. She received her bachelor's degree in Pre-Veterinary Science from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2010. During college she participated in the riding program, student horse boarding co-op, dairy cow group, and was vice president of the sheep group.
Gina attended veterinary school at the University of Florida and graduated with her DVM in 2014. During vet school, Gina did a research project with the Merial Veterinary scholars’ program. Gina worked as a general practitioner at a large animal practice inBrooksville, FL. She worked on a variety of horses, sheep, goats, camelids and cattle for almost four years there. Gina joined Jacksonville Equine Associates in January of 2018. She has special interests in equine sports medicine, wound care and ruminant medicine. She recently registered for acupuncture certification at the Chi Institute and will be offering acupuncture treatments starting in the summer of 2022. In her (limited) free time Gina enjoys riding and spending time with her own horses; Thoroughbred mare ‘Azalea’, Hanoverian mare 'Ressagi' and especially Holstiner mare ‘Con Grazia' aka Gracie’’. She and Gracie compete at local and rated shows in the 3’ adult hunter and equitation divisions. Gina also likes reptiles and has a bearded dragon ‘Pharaoh’.
