Tess Talmage DVM

Veterinarian

Originally from East Hampton, NY, Dr. Tess Talmage brings a wealth of experience, passion, and personality to our practice. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from the University of Vermont before heading to St. George’s University School of Veterinary Medicine, completing her clinical year at the prestigious Texas A&M University. Following veterinary school, Dr. Talmage pursued an internship at the Equine Medical Center of Ocala, where she honed her skills in advanced equine care. She is also a certified Veterinary First Responder and is currently finalizing her acupuncture certification.

Dr. Talmage’s life outside of work is as vibrant as her professional career. She shares her home (and heart) with a lively crew: her Grenada rescue dog Soubise, cats Lil HP, Mike Tyson and Fish, a spider named Janice, five mischievous goats (Beavis, Butthead, Pots, Ghost, and Snicklefritz), her horses Rooster, Ziggy, and Duckie, her flamboyant turkey Sir Deli BoarsHead and of course, a flock of chickens. Her sister Ruby—affectionately known as “Weebs”—is her partner in many adventures.

When she’s not caring for patients or her own herd, you’ll likely find Dr. Talmage outdoors—scuba diving, hiking, running, riding, relaxing at the beach, or working toward her dream of creating a small-scale organic farm (and maybe even building an ark out of a cargo ship one day). Her professional goal is to become a Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners, bringing an even higher level of expertise to her patients and clients. With her blend of deep veterinary knowledge, a love for animals of all shapes and sizes, and a bold vision for the future, Dr. Talmage is an invaluable member of our team.
